TVOne’s Urban One Honors Recognizes Bobby Brown
Bobby Brown Joins Pharell Williams and LL Cool J Among Urban One’s 2023 Honorees
On Monday, January 16, 2023 the 5th Annual Urban One Honors will air on TVOne. This years’ show will be hosted by singer/songwriter/producer, Tank.
Awards presented during the show will include the Lifetime Achievement Award to Congresswoman and advocate, Maxine Waters; the Entertainment Icon Award to iconic rapper and actor, LL Cool J; the Inspirational Impact Award to singers/actors, David & Tamela Mann; and the Music Innovation Award to lengendary producer and artist, Pharrell Williams.
Founding member of iconic group, New Edition and multi-platinum solo superstar, Bobby Brown will receive the first-ever Phoenix Award to recognize and celebrate “his enduring spirit to rise despite great loss and hardship.” The ‘King of R&B’ has suffered several devastating personal losses over the last several years including his parents, sister, son Bobby, Jr., daughter Bobbi Kristina and Brown‘s ex-wife the iconic, Whitney Houston.
Bobby Brown is also gearing up to join his bandmates, New Edition on the upcoming Legacy Tour kicking off on March 9, 2023 at Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, South Carolina.
