TVOne’s UNSUNG Kicks Off New Season with Soul for Real
The Legendary Dalyrimple Brothers Clear the Air On Their Story On The New Season of ‘UNSUNG’ March 6th
Brothers, Christopher Dalyrimple a.k.a. Choc, Andre “Dre” Dalyrimple, Brian Dalyrimple and Jason “Jase” Oliver Dalyrimple make up the legendary R&B group, Soul for Real.
Formed in 1992, Soul for Real was the first R&B group to sign to Uptown Records. They released their debut album Candy Rain on March 28, 1995. The single was produced by the late rapper/producer, Heavy D. The album’s first single, the title track, went all the way to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, and peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard H0t 100 chart, becoming an instant hit! Other singles from the album, “Every Little Thing I Do” and “If You Want It” would also have similar success.
The group would go on to release two more albums; For Life in 1996 and Heat in 1999. Since then, the guys have released several singles, individually. Last November they released a beautiful ballad, “After The Rain,” dedicated to their late mother. Soul for Real’s debut single, “Candy Rain” remains a relevant hit to this day!
TV One’s signature music biography series, UNSUNG, will kick off their new season with Soul For Real, who will share their story of brotherhood, early success, and lessons learned.
